There are many ways of enjoying the stream ice of the Okhotsk Sea. We have previously introduced the Mashuukisen where you can see the ice from further distance, and the Abashiri icebreaker that we are introducing this time allows tourists to see the ice from closer distance. Every year from late January onwards, the Okhotsk Sea will turn into ice and the sea is white in colour. The Abashiri icebreaker will operate all the way to April and you can travel with it along the Okhotsk Sea.

The journey lasts for 1 hour and will change depends on the streams. If there is no stream ice, then the journey will be alternated or cancelled. If there are available seats you can purchase tickets on the spot, but it is recommended that you book online before going.
